                Rainy States announces call for entries
 
Seattle - The Rainy States Film Festival is now accepting entries for its
second annual festival showcasing independent Northwest filmmakers, to be
held Feb. 15-18th, 1996 in Seattle s Broadway Performance Hall, 1625
Broadway.  Interested filmmakers should request an entry form by
contacting Chip Phillips, Executive Director, Rainy States Film Festival,
1202 East Pike, Suite 1240, Seattle, WA, 98122 or by calling (206)
322-3572.
 
All works must originate on film and all genres and lengths will be
considered as long as the film was shot and produced in Oregon,
Washington, Alaska, or British Columbia.  Screening formats available are
35mm, 16mm, and video projection. The deadline for VHS or 16mm submissions
is November 20, 1995, and there is a $20 entry fee that covers the cost of
return shipping.  New this year, jury selected films will be eligible for
gifts of support and services donated by area film and video businesses.
 
In its first year, the Rainy States Film Festival exhibited over twenty
films by Northwest filmmakers to more than 1,400 festival attendees.
Rainy States Film Festival is a non-profit organization in association
with Allied Arts and is grateful to receive funding from the King County
Arts Commission and several area businesses including Scarecrow Video,
Alpha Cine, QFC and American Production Services.

  The Second Annual Rainy States Film Festival - Feb. 15-18, 1996
 
The Rainy States Film Festival is now accepting entries for its second
annual showcase of Northwest filmmakers to be held at Seattle's Broadway
Performance Hall, February 15-18, 1996. Rainy States Film Festival is a
new film festival dedicated to the exhibition of independent films made in
the Pacific Northwest.  In its first year, Rainy States exhibited 6
feature films and 16 shorter films grouped into 8 screenings and attracted
nearl y 1500 attendees.  This year Rainy States will further its
commitment to the local filmmaking community by awarding production
services and in-kind gifts to films selected for inclusion in the
festival.  Eligibility:  All lengths and genres will be considered as long
as the film was independently produced and shot in Alaska, Oregon,
Washington or British Columbia.  All work submitted must have originally
been shot on film (35mm, 16mm, Super8) although festival presentation
will be available on 35mm, 16mm, or by video projection from a BetaSP
tape.
