Interested filmmakers should request an entry form by contacting Chip Phillips, Executive Director, Rainy States Film Festival, 1202 East Pike, Suite 1240, Seattle, WA, 98122 or by calling (206) 322-3572. All works must originate on film and all genres and lengths will be considered as long as the film was shot and produced in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, or British Columbia. Screening formats available are 35mm, 16mm, and video projection. The deadline for VHS or 16mm submissions is November 20, 1995, and there is a $20 entry fee that covers the cost of return shipping. New this year, jury selected films will be eligible for gifts of support and services donated by area film and video businesses. In its first year, the Rainy States Film Festival exhibited over twenty films by Northwest filmmakers to more than 1,400 festival attendees. Rainy States Film Festival is a new film festival dedicated to the exhibition of independent films made in the Pacific Northwest. In its first year, Rainy States exhibited 6 feature films and 16 shorter films grouped into 8 screenings and attracted nearl y 1500 attendees. This year Rainy States will further its commitment to the local filmmaking community by awarding production services and in-kind gifts to films selected for inclusion in the festival. Eligibility: All lengths and genres will be considered as long as the film was independently produced and shot in Alaska, Oregon, Washington or British Columbia.
