 There is a developing body of work occurring in Canada on both culture and
cinema at several of these institutions not occurring elsewhere - certainly
not in the U.S.A. Many Canadian academics (Peter Morris, Peter Harcourt) are
attempting research in this area. Ignoring this developing body of work in
sweeping statements comparing American and Canadian work in Cinema Studies is
simply one example of an instance where more knowledge is needed whenever
putting out messages on this network. Tony Williams
