Friday the 13th at 40 years: A Roundtable

PCA/ACA National Conference

April 15-18, Philadelphia, PA, USA

https://pcaaca.org/

This roundtable will focus on the original Sean S. Cunningham/Victor Miller film Friday the 13th (1980). Scholars will present a short (500-750 word) reflection on the film then discuss Friday the 13th’s production, marketing, influence and lasting significance to cinematic horror. Participants will also consider theoretical approaches to – and critical discourses surrounding – the film in reference to genre, audience reception, gender and affect.

Please send an abstract, proposal or short description (100 words or less) of your project to Mark Bernard ([log in to unmask]) by October 27th, 2019 at 11pm (Central Standard).
