SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY (Fairfield, CT). Assistant Professor of Media
Studies. Sacred Heart University is a dynamic, independent, coeducational
Catholic institution that is committed to excellence in academics and to
the Catholic intellectual and liberal arts traditions. The University has
138 full-time faculty and more than 5600 graduate and undergraduate
students pursuing degrees in thirty baccalaureate programs and eight
master's programs. The University is an NCAA Division I institution. We
invite applications for an anticipated tenure-track position as Assistant
Professor in the Media Studies Program, a liberal arts major that combines
the study of media history and theory with the techniques of production.
Candidate will teach four courses per semester, including University-wide
introductory courses in media literacy, as well as video production and
television production. The ability to teach radio production and
advertising is also desirable. There will also be opportunities to teach
history and theory courses in the candidate's area of research.  Ph.D.
preferred; A.B.D. or M.F.A considered; must demonstrate a strong commitment
to excellence in teaching, creative work and scholarship, and a caring
approach towards students. The successful candidate will value and
