I'd like to thank Leo Enticknap for his informative answers to the
questions about why booms and mikes sometimes appear on-screen. So much of
the Internet is filled with off-hand opinionizing; it's a pleasure to get
solid explanations from someone who knows and takes the trouble to present
it comprehensibly to non-professionals. Thanks also to Chris Worsnop and
Michael Sime for further clarifying the issue from two different points of
view. This, in my opinion, represents Screen-L at its best.
