I have been hearing off and on for some time that a new digital video system
is in the works. It supposedly will be the size of a standard CD and
still contain the material that now takes several laserdisks to include
(even non-CAV format).
Some questions, for those who might know:
1) Is this disk yet available and what is needed to run it (laserdisk machine,
CD-ROM, other?)?
2) What are its actual capabilities for the amount of visual and audio
information
it contains?
3) How does the image itself compare to other modes--tape, laserdisc, quicktime
on CR-ROM, etc?
Thanks for any input.
