Assistant Professor, Tenure- Track, Documentary Media Production, Media and
Film Studies Program (MFS) and the John B. Moore Documentary Studies
Collaborative (MDOCS), Skidmore College

The Media and Film Studies Program (MFS) and the John B. Moore Documentary
Studies Collaborative (MDOCS) at Skidmore College are seeking candidates
for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an emphasis in the
field of Documentary Media Production. The appointment is expected to begin
September 1, 2022.

We recognize that diverse perspectives are essential for the integrity and
excellence of the documentary field and higher education. We welcome
candidates from under-represented groups in the discipline as well as
individuals who have experience with diverse populations who can contribute
to the excellence of the academic community through their creative work,
teaching, and/or service.  Enthusiasm for teaching, mentoring, and advising
a diverse population of students is essential.  We invite you to discuss
any aspects of your candidacy that are relevant to this in your application
materials.

We welcome candidates who are creative non-fiction makers specializing in
one or more of the following mediums: film, video, audio, photography,
multi-media, interactive media, installation, performance. We are
interested in candidates who have strong creative portfolios and welcome
applications that demonstrate innovative and hybrid approaches to
documentary media. The ideal applicant would also have a body of work that
reflects a commitment to ethically produced, community-based media, as they
will be expected to help shape the

Co-Creation Initiative
