The Contemporary Film Directors Series
From the University of Illinois Press

Contemporary Film Directors presents short, engagingly written, useful commentaries on living directors from around the world, including those who deserve greater attention in the English language. Each volume also includes an interview with the director, an annotated filmography, illustrations, and a bibliography.

Sight and Sound recently reviewed the series' book on Todd Haynes, by Rob White, as "sharp and attentive, especially when the writing is intensified by the focus on an individual frame." For more information on the recently published titles in this series, please see below.

We are also pleased to offer a 30% discount on these titles - see below for details.

Justus Nieland<http://www.combinedacademic.co.uk/886-david-lynch.html>

"A stunning piece of work. One of the most provocative, erudite, and elegantly written - not to mention persuasive - writings on Lynch I have seen. It is a much-needed volume and will contribute to Lynch criticism but its reach is much wider; it will signal the arrival of a significant voice to the field. This is the book."¯Akira Mizuta Lippit, author of Atomic Light (Shadow Optics)
