Established in 2000, the DV Film Festival celebrates emerging
talent by screening digital films with independent vision,
intriguing subject matter, robust scripts, and foresights that
push the digital envelope.

The DV Film Festival is part of the Digital Video Media Group,
publishers of DV magazine, Xtreme Video Magazine,, and
producers of Digital Video Expo West and Digital Video Expo East.


Participating as a Premier Sponsor of the DV Film Festival will
allow your company to be a part of all promotional material,
marketing, display advertising, Web site advertising, public
relations, and on-site signage at the event making over 8 Million
advertising impressions. This package will deliver the highest
possible exposure for Panasonic and will co-brand Panasonic as an
official sponsor of the DV Film Festival.

The 2005 DV Film Festival call for entries is now open! 

The 6th annual festival takes place December 2005 during the week
of Digital Video Expo West in Los Angeles.

venue, and the number of films that to be selected for screening.

We've once again partnered with Without A Box (WAB) so WAB
members with upgraded projects get a discount off their entry
fees, plus the advantages of extended deadlines and online press
kit submissions.

Feature entries must be AT LEAST 80 minutes in length. Short
entries must be 15 MINUTES or less. 

Download the application:

We only accept entries shot in digital video or high-definition
formats. We do not accept entries that already have a theatrical
distribution deal in place. We do not accept works in progress.

Submissions will be evaluated on independent vision, creativity,
originality, storytelling, technical expertise, and entertainment
value. Final selections will be exhibited at the 2005 DV Film
Festival held the week of Digital Video Expo West 2005 in Los
Angeles, California.

SHORTS (15 minutes or less)

Music Video Short

$25 Early Submission Deadline: August 1, 2005
$35 Late Submission Deadline: August 15, 2005
$50 Extended Submission Deadline: August 30, 2005

*Discounts available to Without A Box members with upgraded projects. 

All submissions should have a completion date no older than
January 2004 and must be submitted in NTSC VHS or DVD format.
Selected films must provide on NTSC miniDV, or DVCAM format for
final exhibition/viewing.

There is a total limit of three separate submissions per person.
A separate application form must be submitted for each entry. If
more than three entries are received, only the first three will
be considered.

One feature filmmaker will receive the award for BEST FEATURE and
one short filmmaker will receive the Audience Choice Award for
Best Short.

Detailed information about the awards, prizes, and advisory board
members will be announced soon.

Following the festival, the DV Media Group will help promote the
winning films (and filmmakers) via announcements in:

- DV magazine
- DV Film Festival Newsletter 
- DV News and Views Newsletter
- DV Film Festival site

The DV Film Festival attracts industry professionals, filmmakers,
Digital Video Expo and Conference attendees, movie buffs, and the
editors of DV magazine.

In addition, the DV Film Festival extends screening invitations
to representatives from:

- film and television studios
- distribution companies
- theatre chains
- film festivals
- film and video organizations
- film critics
- national and Los Angeles-based media publications
- online film sites
