If you can find issues of G-Fan at a comicbook store, they should help you
immensely. They have had articles on international releases of Godzilla films.
They have even had articles on related films that had detailed filmographies,
even cediting cast who did not receive credit even in the Japanese versions. One
caveat that I find annoying and might be a negative for your prpses, is that they
always use the English names of the monsters, even if giving a title in another
Mothra tai Godzilla
the claim to be the Japanese title ofthe 1964 Godzilla vs. Mothra, which they
insist on referring to in the text, to be standardized, by its ridiculous
theatrical title, _Godzilla vs. the Thing_ (although the dub track continues to
have characters refer to Mothra as "the Thing" even with the restored title).
The correct Japanese title is Mosura tai Gojira. Godzilla is relatively
meaningless, though zilla has xome to mean lizard these days, while Gojira is
gorira (gorilla)+kujira (whale).
