Call for Papers

Gender

The Southwest/Texas Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association
invites submissions of papers and presentations examining aspects of Gender
for its annual conference to be held March 7 - 10, 2001, at the Sheraton
Oldtown Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Possible topics for consideration include, but are not limited to:

Images of Gender in
Literature
                    Film
                    Art
                    Photography
                    History
                    Politics
                    Music
                    Television
Power struggle between the genders
Stereotyping male or female roles
Breaking the stereotypes

Graduate students, please consider submitting your paper for the Diana Cox
Award.  This award is given for the best paper that deals with images of
women in pop cult.  For more information, see the association website.

Please send proposals for papers, slide shows, video presentations, dramatic
presentations, etc..... (150 words or less) by December 1, 2000.
