One thing that has me wondering is why Neil Marcus on ER had to have CP,
instead of what he really has, graphic dystonia (did I spell that right?) I
love Neil and *Storm Reading* which I use in my class, but it seemed a
little odd, considering that it's a medical show, and they've had scences
where they've consulted medical books for help before, so why not with this
one? And while the storyline was good, it resulted in little more then
"disabled guy teaches nondisabled guy a thing or two" story, though based
on discussions we've had about disabled people's treatment in hospitals as
medical object and infantile on a disability listserve I'm on, maybe not so
small a point? Still it seemed like another form of "passing" to me.

And yes, the guy on Port Charles did have his scene, though I wonder how
realistic it was, based on the asexual stigma many disabled people receive.
(His sexuality was never in question, just his "ability to function." As if
that was all there was to sex. And I caught an episode of One Life where
they've integrated Michael Zaslow's ALS into his character. It might be
interesting to see how that one unfolds.
