I just came across an article at enews.com that presents an
interesting slant on this discussion. The article is:
  The Children's Hour, by V.I. Postrel
It's from the journal/mag. Reason.
 
Postrel suggests that both "left" and "right" are appropriating
the voice of children to further their own political ends in the
TV and violence and other debates.  Her arguments are worth
bringing into this debate, however in the end I was unsure of
their intention or resolution.
