For those who may not be familar with Robeson - he was a very talented American
Black singer/actor and athlete of the 30s/40s who felt very strongly
about Socialism/Communism and become very unpopular in the U.S. I believe
he spent much of his life in Europe and only recently (the past 20 years)
was accepted for his talent rather than his political views. He lived from
1898-1976. I think he played Shakespeare. He sang "Old Man River" in the
30's version of Show Boat demonstrating a marvelous voice.
 
Anyone else want to add anything on him?
