The Carolina Film and Video Festival
 
Screening Process
A panel of local film and video makers will view each entry during
the festival's prescreening. The works selected will then be screened
at the Festival for  final judging. Winnning entries will be reshown on
the final night of the festival. Last year 48 works were shown at the
festival out of 350 entries.
 
Requirements for submissions and Screening.
Works should be submitted in VHS format for pre-screening. All video
submited must be in NTSC format. If the work is selected for
competitive screening, the entrant will be contacted and asked to
provied the work in its original format. We will take every
precaution in handling film and videos. Howevere, the festival cannot
accept nor assume responsibility for damage or loss of materials
submitted. CFVF is also not responsible for any claim involving
copyright, trademark, credits, or royalty infringements related to
the work. Submissions of an entry to this festival signifies that the
entries and fees in extenuating circumstances. CFVF reserves the
right to decline entries and fees in extenuating circumstances.
All entries should be shipped in appropriate containers and insured
for replacement cost. No fiber-lined enveopes, please. An official
CFVF entry form or a reproduction thereof must accompany each entry.
Submission of an entry gives the festival permission to have accepted
works photographed, telecast and/or reproduced, either in part or
whole, for the purpose of publicizing the festival. Submissions will
be accepted in the following formats: 16 mm, BetaSP, SVHS, and VHS
 
Entry Fees.
$ 20 for students, and $30 for independents.Students, please enclose
a photocopy of your i.d.
Entry fee includes return postage.
Checks only please; payable to: Carolina Film and Video Festival.
 
Deadline: March 10th , 1998
 
Prizes:
This year's awards are expected to match or exceed last year's $2500
in cash in a supply of Kodak filmstock.
