The "obvious propaganda stuff" in Riefenstahl's films that John G. Thomas
refers to included the monumental arrangements of the Nazi Ministry of
Propaganda for every aspect of mise-en-scene. How can the esthetics of
_Triumph of the Will_, say, be kept separate from the filmaker's
Nazi ideology?
