In response to Denis Simard's question about the Kuleshov effect,
allow me to recommend Steve Prince's excellent article,
"The Kuleshov Effect: Re-creating the Classic Experiment,"
which appeared in CINEMA JOURNAL, vol. 31, no. 2 (Winter, '92).

This was co-authored by Wayne Hensley, though I saw Steve give
an earlier version at the 1990 Visual Communication Conference,
at Tahoe.

Bob Tiemans was at that conference, and had, evidently, also
re-created the 'effect' years earlier -- though I don't have a cite
for that.
