Another short story made into a very good short film is Ambrose Bierce's
"An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge." It was filmed by Robert Enrico
(and once actually aired as an episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE!).

Don Larsson, Mankato State U (MN)

There was also the sand-animation work a couple of years ago, called something
like "The Man Who Planted Trees," which I believe is based on a story by
a well-known French author.
