SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY—The Department of Art and Music Histories in the College of Arts & Sciences seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music and Media Studies, starting August 2023. Area of specialization is open. Successful candidates should demonstrate their potential to maintain an active program of research and publication. In addition to teaching courses within their specialty, the successful candidate is also expected to teach European/American Music After 1800, a required course for students enrolled in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. They will also advise music history and cultures majors and serve on departmental, college, and university committees. A Ph.D. in musicology or related field by the appointment date is required. College-level teaching experience is preferred. Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Start date: August 2023. Priority consideration: December 15, 2022.
