Assistant Professor Position, University of Texas at Austin, Department of
Radio-Television-Film
Race, Ethnicity and Media position

The Department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas at
Austin seeks a tenure-track assistant professor with specialization in
race, ethnicity and media.  A Ph.D. is required, along with the ability to
teach undergraduate and graduate level courses as well as to publish in the
national and international journals in the field.  Knowledge of
communication theory and multiple research methods, including social
scientific approaches, is expected.

The Department of Radio-TV-Film has 29 permanent faculty, approximately 950
undergraduate majors and 150 graduate students in M.A., MFA, and Ph.D.
programs.  RTF offers courses in film and video television studies,
international communication, telecommunications technology and policy,
gender and sexuality and media, ethnic issues in communication, film and
video production, screenwriting and digital media research and design.  The
