My point about True lies was that say what you will about whether
you agree or disagree (or don't care) about it's politics, at least
it was *complete* enough to say something about it. In other words,
the film *made sense*. It's a much easier launching point for analysis.
Speed, while entertaining, required a *lot* of suspension of disbelief
that I shouldn't have had to do (driving over 50 mph during L.A. Rush hour
through a garden bed, for example, jumping a 50 ft. unfinished section of
bridge in a *bus* going 65 for another). Exaggeration in TL was meant
as humor. Exaggeration in Speed was unintentional and unwelcome.
That's what "comprehensive" meant. No plot holes (at least the same
as Speed).
