Regarding the commission established to investigage violence in cinema, you
might be referring to the MPPDA or the Legion of Decency.  I can dig
further if you would like.  Or, perhaps somebody else has more specifics?
It might be that the Legion of Decency and Breen's people were more
interested in moral issues.
