Although I have not seen either of these in several years, they both stand
out as quality book to film adaptations for that age group--
ISLAND OF THE BLUE DOLPHIN is a short novel by Scott O'Dell--made into a
film in the mid-1960s
JOHNNY TREMAIN was adapted by Disney in the late 50s, and I have friends
who use it in American History I
