There are some very good academic journals often featuring material on
television - SCIENCE FICTION STUDIES and EXTRAPOLATION come to mind. But do
not entirely dismiss fandom. More often than not they often provide more
accurate and detailed readings than more discursively orientated works by
respectable critics. See. e.g. IF YOU SHOOT ME IN YOUR DREAMS, YOU'D BETTER
WAKE UP AND APOLOGIZE: THE FILMS OF HARVEY KEITEL.
