As far as I know as a Japanese who's born and raised there, it seems there
actually are much more depictions of violence on American TV than on
Japanese TV. And for the claim that the crime rate in Japan is much lower
than that of the US, we might not want to forget the fact that in Japan the
law prohibits the citizens from owning a gun, which I think makes a lot of
difference in terms of the crime rate.
