In our big Intro. to Film classes (up to 200 students in a largish auditorium)
we have a 3-lens Barco projector, which was recommended above Sony. It was
expensive and a bit of a chore to get installed, but it works very well
(hooked up to a VCR, laserdisc, and a computer--which keeps getting stolen,
but that'
s another story).

For smaller, off-campus classes (up to 35 enrollment), we use a portable
Sharp Ultra-compact LCD (single-lens) projector. One of my catalogues lists
it at $1995.00. It is very handy and lightweight.

Depending on your classroom setup, you might want to think about installing
a large-screen tv and keeping it in one room.

Good luck.
