The difference between PAL and other systems is the color sync, and number
of frames.  You can watch a PAL video tape on an NTSC television, but you
will only see black & white, and you may have to adjust the vertical hold.
The letters following refer to the broadcast signal: Whether the audio is AM
or FM, and the frequency, and bandwidth of each channel.
