Another dog--Red, Loretta Young's dog in THE STRANGER.  Orson Welles
ends up killing Red because the dog keeps going to the spot in the woods
where Welles has buried the body of his Nazi cohort.  The dog's death
is a signigicant key to Welles' downfall in smalltown America.  A great
movie indeed.
