School of American & Canadian Studies

Lecturer in Film Studies

Applications are invited for the above post based in the 5* research rated
(RAE 2001) School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching
in any area of film studies, although an interest in the relation of film to
other media or in one of the following areas would be an advantage: cultural
industries; textual analysis; or reception studies. They will also be
expected to carry out administrative duties, and be research active.
Candidates must have successfully completed, or be close to completing, a
PhD by the date of appointment, and will be expected to supervise and
examine undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.

Salary will be within the range £22,191 - £25,451 per annum, depending on
qualifications and experience. This post is available from 1 September 2003
or as soon as possible thereafter.
