Can anyone tell me where I might find any statistics or studies on the
demographics of film audiences over time (or for particular films?).

I'm especially interested in stats on audiences of older people (over 50) -
where they are, who they are, what they see, what age spans attend
most/least, how this has changed over time, and whether any explanations
are offered for these numbers.
