One of the most famous Telugu (South Indian language) films is SIRI SIRI
MUVVA, remade in Hindi as SARGAM (by K. Viswanath, starring Jaya
Prada/Jayaprahda). The mute heroine summons help by ringing a bell at the end.
Both films are from the early 80s. There is a copy of the Hindi remake with
subtitles, but I have no idea how to find it. The International Channel
(cable, California) showed it a couple of years ago with subtitles.
