media studies. The university-year appointment will begin September 1, 2019.

We are interested in a humanities scholar who focuses on global media

an emphasis on television, new media platforms, forms of streaming
distribution, and modes of production and consumption. Possible
interests also include history and theory of global television/media
exchanges; transnational media industries and cultures; streaming and
the creation
of alternative media practices; the role of media in formulations of space,
place, and geography; transnational media consumption and the reformulation of
social, political, and cultural identities; fandom; and non-Western industries
and media products. Scholars may approach these issues in any period
in the history
of television/media.

is required.
The teaching load will be four courses per academic year (courses of

The candidate should demonstrate a strong promise of scholarly
excellence, evidence
of teaching effectiveness, and the ability to develop a global
television/media curriculum across the creative production/conceptual
studies divide.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, evidence of
teaching excellence (such as teaching evaluations, etc.), a statement
of teaching
philosophy and experience, a statement of current and future research plans,
and two recent writing samples. All materials should be submitted in PDF form
