The College of Liberal Arts, Florida Atlantic University, will fill TWO
positions beginning August 1998.  The College of Liberal Arts will begin
its new degree program in Communication (Film and Media Studies) in Fall
1998.  The College has a diverse and rapidly growing student population
and sponsors a successful International Film Series.
 
Tenure Track Assistant Professor, in film studies, to teach courses in
film history, theory, and criticism.  Secondary interests in gender and in
video and television studies would be welcomed. Salary negotiable
depending upon credentials, nine-months appointment, summer teaching
available. Ph.D. required, active publishing record and teaching
experience preferred.  Scholarly productivity and publication expected for

Media Studies, to teach courses in Media Theory and Criticism, and in
several of the following areas: Cultural Studies, New Technologies, Media
History, Race,Ethnicity and the Media, Gender/Sexuality and Media, the
Political Economy of Media Institutions, and Global Media. Ph. D. in
Communications, and evidence of active publishing record and teaching
excellence required. Salary negotiable, summer teaching available.
