The Department of Film, York University, invites applications for a 9
month contractually-limited position in Cinema and Media Studies
effective August 15, 2007 (subject to budgetary approval by the
University). Responsibilities will include teaching a full range of
appropriate undergraduate courses, serving on department committees,
student advising, and curriculum development. Research specialization
or teaching experience in film theory and one or more of the following
areas is preferred: world cinema; Canadian cinema and television;
gender and sexuality.
Applicants should have a doctorate (or near completion) in cinema
studies or a related discipline, a distinguished and active program
of research and publication, as well as an excellent record of
teaching at the undergraduate level. We welcome a working knowledge
of both of Canadas official languages. Salary is commensurate with
experience and qualifications.
