The School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for appointment at the rank of Full Professor with Tenure with expertise in media history, media archaeology, archiving, and/or technoculture studies. Applicants’ research agenda should emphasize the media of the moving image, including film, television, and emerging media, and situate that work within cultural histories of creative production and the social impacts of mass media. Desired areas of teaching expertise include media histories, contemporary media philosophy, and/or media archeology and archiving.

Preferred Education and Experience
* An earned PhD in Cultural Studies, Media Studies or a closely related field is required.
* Experience in program administration, curriculum development, and with contemporary challenges in building interdisciplinary programs in higher education settings is preferred.

* Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary education.
* Prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate classes.
* Contribute to curriculum development.
* Contribute assessment information and data as requested.
* Mentor and/or advise undergraduate and/or graduate students.
* Continue to expand professional influence in the academic discipline through research and/or publication.
* Engage in service within the academic unit, the university, and the profession as appropriate based on teaching and research constraints.
