    I have always felt that we are pursuing  HDTV because of the guilt
    (although it rightfully should be shame) over letting the Japanese steal
    VCR's from us.  WE see a parallel  situation and , IMHO, it is
    not.     Gary Parsons
    Melinda:  Are you nuts??  The space program was one of the major
    breakthroughs in the life of this planet.  It was not a "waste"
    by any stretch of the imagination.
