Dear all,

Apologies for the late posting (and the brief description below), but we are looking for a third and final presenter to join the panel, "The Traces of Jacques Derrida's Cinema."

On the threshold of the tenth anniversary of Jacques Derrida’s death, this panel seeks to explore the relationship between Derrida’s work and cinema by drawing on his infrequent comments on or about movies and film and the status of deconstruction in contemporary film and media studies. While the two speakers will take as their common point of departure Derrida’s 2001 interview with Cahiers du cinéma, “Le Cinéma et ses fantômes,” we are open to any papers about deconstruction and cinema, and especially interested in those which address the significance of revisiting Derrida's work in film and media studies today.

For more information and submissions, please contact Tim Holland at [log in to unmask]
Abstracts, bibliographies, and biographies will need to adhere to SCMS requirements.
