SCREEN-L was designed specifically for persons involved in the *study*
of film/TV history/theory/production.  Thus, it
has a certain academic slant to it.
 
Technical questions are welcome--especially when they might be of
interest to teachers and/or students of film/TV.  But you can expect
the bulk of SCREEN-L posts to be oriented around history/criticism/theory.
 
There are some other film/TV lists with a more technical orientation.
You might want to check them out as well.
