You should consider Dr. Strangelove (1964). Peter Sellers in the title role
has three disabilities. He 1] is mobility impaired 2] has an artificial
right arm and 3] is mentally ill.He might be viewed as a personification of
the horrors of the war he unleashes.
 
Another interesting personification [of war or perhaps more broadly,fate]
is "Joey" in Stalag 17 (1953). He is "shell-shocked" and presides over most
of the major events in the film.
 
These two may portray war as a disability.
