Jean-Luc Godard once said (I believe he was serious) that
Jerry Lewis was a great composer of comic scenes.
 
Any film scholar should take a relaxed look at the great
Lewis films of the late fifties and early sixties: "The
Patsy," "The Bellboy," "The Nutty Professor," etc.
