Could you give us some clues where to find stuff about this?
This is really interesting in connection with documentary theory
(and not only the ethics side of it). Have there been any attempts at
copying a project like this lately. One should think that the TV world
of the 80-90s that produces shows like Geraldo and Morton Downey jr.
would be far more likely to use the "soupumentary" concept  than in the
70s (and PBS!).
