I would be interested to find out whether there is any research being
carried out into the cultural history and reception of cinema specifically
in regional areas of the United States, Canada or the U.K.  I'd also be
grateful for any suggestions of publications in this area.
 
I am currently involved with a research MA into cinema reception in the
Illawarra region of N.S.W., Australia and would enjoy comparing notes with
