        I apologize if it has already been mentioned, but Sam Fuller's
*Verboten!* would be, I think, central to such a topic, as it deals almost
exclusively with the relationship between a GI who remains in Germany
after the war (James Best?) and his "war bride," set against German
political turmoil of the time.
