Ah, but look at the underrated comedy SO FINE, where Ryan O'Neal is struggling
for tenure under the chairmanship of deliciously nasty Fred Gwynne.  At least,
he escapes by going back to the family garment business.
 
 
On a more serious note, has anyone mentioned films by the Greatest Paranoid
Director of them all, Peter Watkins?  In particular, his PUNISHMENT PARK and
GLADIATARENA (I'
m not quite sure if that's the correct title) would seem to be relevant, but
PRIVILEGE might be as well.
