Dear Colleagues,

As always, the peer-reviewed journal *Short Film Studies* welcomes
submissions that reflect your critical and scholarly interests about short
films and media by way of its *ongoing open Call for Papers*; in addition,
the upcoming edition of the journal (13.2) invites manuscripts that focus
on the* featured national cinema – shorts from Ukraine*. The shorts may be
narrative or non-narrative, fiction or documentary, live-action, animated,
or avant-garde.

Also, the *featured short* for the issue is *The View from Up Here* (2017),
the fascinating, award-winning short directed and written by Marco Calvani
– available @ vimeo.com/220533282/0085c6aefe

An interview with the director is available on the journal’s site @
www.intellectbooks.com/short-film-studies under the “Call for Papers” tab.

Please send a brief abstract of 50-to-75-words along with a brief
biographical statement to the editor @ [log in to unmask]

Deadline for full submissions: *1 May 2023*

Length of manuscripts: 1500 to 4000 words
If you'd like a *pdf copy* of the full Call for Papers or any additional
information about the journal or Issue 13.2, I will be very happy to hear
from you.

Best wishes,

Cynthia Felando

Editor, *Short Film Studies*
