I am currently co-writing a study of the visual style of film noir. While
I already have a personal archive of several hundred production stills,
more are needed. While some frame enlargements may ultimately be used,
most of the illustrations will be from scene stills, either originals or
high quality dupes.

I am looking either to borrow stills from certain titles ("payment" would
be an acknowledgement and hopefully a free copy of the final book) or to
purchase or trade for them. Rather than append a complex want list, if
you have stills and would be interested in helping, please e-mail me at

Thanks,

Alain Silver
