I think that those scenes as well as the exteriors in the film "Havana" were
shot in Santo Domingo, D.R., a place that remarkably resembles old Havana.
In fact the Dominican Republic is a great place for varied locations, from
beaches to country to cities. I've shot two music videos and one commercial
down there, and the local crews were very good. (We flew in the cameras and
lenses from Miami, but the cranes, trucks, generators, and support were
local.)
Chad Dominicis.
