Departments of Art, Computer Science, Film, Music, TV/Radio and Theater
(Candidate will be appointed to department based upon specialization)


[Salary]:

Assistant Professor     $32,703 - $45,737
Associate Professor     $42,616 - $57,049
salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

[Application Deadline]:

Review of applications will begin on May 7, 2000 and continue until
position is filled.


[Responsibilities]:

- teach courses in Interactive Media design, theory, and history

- coordinate production of multi-media pieces in media arts courses

- foster and promote cross-disciplinary cooperation and collaboration
among college students and faculty

- develop, promote, and administer a graduate program in integrated
media arts presently under development

- explore industry connections, support, and equipment loans

- serve as a catalyst for entrepreneurial partnerships with industries
and institutions engaged in new media innovation

- facilitate basic and applied research to create new knowledge of the
uses, technologies, and effects of the new media

- coordinate budgeting of productions, interdepartmental contributions
and responsibilities, and fundraising


[Qualifications]:

Doctorate, or MMus or MFA and sufficient teaching and professional
experience in a field related to multimedia design, development,
evaluation, and research required. Teaching experience and
professional experience in integrated media performance is
expected. Experience in most popular digital applications, digital
film, video editing and such areas as interactive storytelling,
computer game design, computer animation, 3D modeling,
multimedia project management, and soundscapes for the web
and stand-alone media such as CD/DVD. Knowledge of operations
and technical support of MacIntosh computers and software such
as ProTools, MacOS, Director, and Photoshop highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of the collaborative
process and the ability to foster interdisciplinary cooperation.

(Professional portfolio, sample syllabi, and a demonstration class
will be required of finalists).


Note: This is an anticipated vacancy, subject to financial ability.
