Does anyone know if some of these films are available on video (titles
include "Hold Me While I'm Naked," "I Was a Teenage Rumpot," "Sins of the
Fleshapoids," "The Naked and the Nude," "The Craven Sluck")? If so, where
can I rent and/or purchase them?>>
Jill, a lot of George and Mike's films are handled through Canyon Cinema here
in SF (Hold Me and the other films of his epic "trilogy")....rental prices
vary widely. You can reach them at (415) 626-2255. You can also get "Sins"
through the Pacific Film Archive. I believe that the Filmmaker's Cooperative
in NY handles most of Mike's work, but most of it wouldn't really be suitable
for a Midnight Movies class. You might also try to reach George in person
at the SF Art Institute where he teaches...I know he's got a lot of his own
stuff on video that isn't widely available.
Finally, you might also want to consider showing Curt McDowell's
Thundercrack...a Gothic porn horror flick that was scripted by and stars
George himself (in flagrante no less). This 1976 film was actually a true
midnight movie that had a major premiere in L.A.
good luck,
